Work and Development Permit Scheme

Transit Soup Kitchen is an approved WDP sponsor with Fines Victoria. This program helps people experiencing hardship reduce their fines by completing approved volunteer activities with us.

Who can join? You may qualify if you can’t afford your fines and are experiencing financial hardship. You must be:

  • Over 18

  • Physically fit (enough to safely lift 10-15kg if needed)

  • Able to understand English at a medium level

  • Agree to follow our volunteer guidelines and sign our volunteer agreement.

  • You can volunteer on Fridays from 10am–12pm. Additional days or times may be possible depending on the amount of the fine and your suitability in other roles.

How to apply (4 quick steps):

  1. Obtain a free Working With Children Check (free for volunteers).

  2. Get an electronic copy/photo of your fine(s) that include the infringement or obligation number in it.

  3. Download and complete the WDP consent form.

  4. Provide a photo/copy of your Working With Children Check.

  5. Fill out the form below and attach all three documents

What happens next? We’ll review your application and submit it to Fines Victoria. You’ll receive an email from us once it’s lodged. After approval, we’ll contact you to arrange a start date.

When you arrive, please check in and check out with management so your hours are recorded.
